As things are a little more relaxed around here, I want to get the garden shaped up and planted up.
As many people before me have done and I really like the idea, I thought I would try it out.
Each month buying a perennial or herbaceous plant of interest each month.
I had a visit to the garden nursery last week and came home with this.

it has planted in a new corner that I have cleared and has plenty of room to make itself at home.
There is room for a few more plants in this corner.
Spotty Dotty has some flowers forming they develop under the leaves, I got the plant for the foliage not the flowers.
I found one of these offered at a Car Boot Sale last summer. It wasn't cheap, but it was unusual and I still have it in quite a shady area, still in its pot as I would like it to go with us when we move. It has survived the winter, despite being in the pot, I am glad to say. I need to put mine in a bigger tub I think.
ReplyDelete"Spotty Dotty". I haven't got that one. I make hundreds of perennials every year. Are they easy to divide or propagate? If I buy a new plant I divide it into two. Raining today here in Ireland. A good day for making new plants.
ReplyDeleteYour blog has given me an idea for our herb garden, which does need some attention. I planted herb seeds last year, hardly any of which came up, so because we are taking it slow this year with the garden, I am going to follow on from your example and buy a herb plant each month. Just usual ones though!
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of a new plant every month! Might be a way to help me expand my flower and herb garden. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice idea. The Spotty Dotty is interesting looking, I've never seen it before!
