After being away last week-end and having visitors this week, it has thrown me out of routine,
I have also had Martin home all week.
Martin's parents were visiting us this week, they live in France and this is there first visit to us here,
We have had glorious weather for there visit, the other day it was really really hot, I got burned on my legs, plenty of Aloe Vera has fixed it, poor Sol has struggled with the heat
When we went to the beach I got him a frozen live yogurt to help cool him down, he did really enjoy it.
This morning I had my little stall down in the village, it was a lovely morning.
My dads cactus that I have been looking after since he passed away, has burst into flower this week
This is what I got Martin for an anniversary present, he can set it up and it will take photos when motion is detected, it can also be set on time lapse or video, he can then look back at what has been recorded on his computer or through the TV, he is hoping to catch some of the local wild life.
We hope to get it set up tomorrow, I am hoping we get some rain tonight, I have some planting out to do and the ground is so dry, its been too hot to plant out.
Now things are back to normal here I will be back to normal posting. I hope everyone has been enjoying flaming June, its certainly been flaming.
Dawn - Dogs can be cooled down by wetting their necks (top and underneath) - might be a good idea to remove the necktie collar whilst the weather is hot to help Sol feel cooler?
ReplyDeleteLooks like your Dad, via the cactus, is popping by to say "hello" ;)
Dads cacti have flowered every year since he passed away never flowered for him
DeleteYour Dad's cactus looks beautiful. I am not a lover of cactus, mostly because I always seem to get prickles in my fingers when I go near them, but I think that this one is worth risking.
ReplyDeleteGlad Martin's parents had a good week of weather with you, and missed the not so good weather here in France.
Our rotweiller dogs don't like the heat either, and we have to watch them when we are working outside because they will take themselves off to the river for a swim as soon as our backs are turned!
Glad to see a post from you. Was concerned lest something ill had befallen you.
I saw on the news the floods and storms in France
DeleteHi Dawn, missed you, so glad to have you back. Has the weather not been glorious? Wonderful as the kids have been off for half term. Loads of outside stuff done and swimming down at the river, eating outside- just wonderful. I have emailed you with a small cry for help!x
ReplyDeletenice to be back
DeleteNice to read you again Dawn.
ReplyDeleteHere in the east of the country - and the north - there has been nothing flaming about June so far. It has been dull and very cold with a North wind blowing.
But today it is still and the sun is shining so we are going
out for sunday lunch.
for such a small country we have such diverse weather
DeleteHi Dawn...Just catching up with blogs myself...see you've had a fantastic week...getting back to normal can be a double edged sword can't it...good to be back to routine, but missing all the fun! X
ReplyDeleteI like having my routine keeps me in check
DeleteIt's great to have time away and family time, but we love the peace of being at home together.
ReplyDeleteIts been a busy few weeks
DeleteGlad that your week was good, I have used natural yogurt and cucumber for sunburn but now have an Aloe Vera in the house. Your stall looks attractive. How often are you there, I would love to come and see what is going on, there is nothing like that around here.
ReplyDeleteBrechfa Market is on the 1st saturday of every month
DeleteWell I'd like to know where our flaming June is here in Staffordshire....lol. We get a bit of sun but then the clouds roll in and sit there but don't give us any rain. Still I am glad that you had good weather for your visitors-x-
ReplyDeleteIt makes all the difference having good weather with visitors
DeleteWe have one of those cameras. Hint - don't point it where pigeons land or you end up with endless pixs of pigeons. landing, hopping, mating, feeding..... A few inches higher and you can get foxes, deer and hare quite easily here in Norfolk.
ReplyDeleteno pigeons around here well just the odd one, Martin has been up the fields and now set up the camera
DeleteLovely coloured cactus. The weather changed so quickly once that east wind dropped. We could do with rain too.
ReplyDeleteThe flowers only last 24hrs such a shame
