Fancy A Walk

Join Sol and me on an afternoon walk

Turn right out of the drive and walk down the road

 Off down the track into the forest

The sun is shining and the air is still

 Following the path up to the top we look across the valley

In the distance the group of trees marks the entrance to our drive

 we continue down into the forest,

the gorse is in flower and buzzing with bees

I like to think they are our bees, 

Its close enough to be our bees.

 There is a small stream that carries the run off from the hills 

Sol likes to have a paddle

 and a quick drink to quench his thirst

 and the only way to really cool off is to lay down in the water

 We walk on to our turning point,

enjoying the views of the valleys and hills stretching out before us

heading home we jump the muddy  puddle

 Which is full of frog spawn

 And tadpoles

 

Sol finds another pool of water to wash his stick, 

he likes to dip his sticks in water 

 Heading home with the moon in the sky on one side and the sun shining on the other

 The air was heavy with the scent of garlic

 wild garlic we found a  lovely patch growing

 I picked a handful

To enjoy with scramble eggs sausage and bacon for tea.

First bit of wild foraging of the year,

Lovely it was too.
