The time has come to goodbye to Kara,
I just want to leave you with some photos of some of the good times Kara has enjoyed in her retirement, although its only been 8 months Kara brought us a lot of happiness and joy.
She will be missed, we know we are making the right decision on Kara's behalf, it has been a privilege to have had Kara with us.
Oh, it is always so sad when we humans have to make this call. But, we have to be strong for our animal - our friend, our confidant. What is the best for them, hurts us, but we have to think of them, not us.
ReplyDeleteBe strong.
Thinking of you all xx
ReplyDeleteShe was extremely lucky to have her last few months with you both, is such a happy lovely home, it's a hard time so both Kev and I are sending our love xxxx
ReplyDeleteOh bless her little heart. I'm glad she had a lovely retirement with your family. So sad. Best wishes to you all. (Mrs LH)
ReplyDeleteSuch sad news, but lovely to see what a happy retirement she had with you xx
ReplyDeleteOh, poor girl, such a short retirement. I'm glad she was able to spend it with you on the farm. More than your fair share of sadness I think, when rehoming older dogs. I admire you for doing it. x
ReplyDeleteSuch a hard thing to do, but she had a lovely life with you. Thinking of you all xx
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for you all - sadly, it's the price we humans pay for loving our pets, She did have a happy home with you.
ReplyDeleteOh Dawn... my heart aches for you and your hubby in the days to come. Yes, you are making the right decision for Kara. What a happy and varied (but oh-so short) retirement she has had. Thinking of you all, today and the days/weeks to come. Goodnight Kara - sleep well. CMW xx
ReplyDeleteSo sad. God bless her. Don't be sad, I read something once that stayed with me. It was a poem from a dog, the gist of which said the only thing that a dog has to pass on is it's owners love for it and asks that the owners take another dog and give it the same love they gave to it.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, I have enjoyed reading about Kara. So sorry she didn't have a much deserved longer retirement.
ReplyDeleteI hope she is playing with my beautiful golden retriever Toby

You have given a lovely doggie a perfect retirement. You've shared each other's company and enjoyed memories together. Bless you.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos of a happy dog. X
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for you, but you have some lovely pics and memories, and Kara had a lovely last few months with you.
ReplyDeleteKara had a wonderful retirement, even though it was short. You have to be a very special person to adopt older dogs that may not be with you for very long. You gave her such a good quality of life and I commend you for knowing that it is time.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to read this Dawn, but I am glad I met her. What a sweetie, and what a lovely retirement she had with you - no dog could ask for more. Your photos show how she was part of your family and enjoyed her retirement to the full, short though it was.
ReplyDeleteDawn you know when it is the time for Kara to go. You gave her a wonderful time at the end of her life and loved her. I am tearing up as I write this . Run free and happy Kara xxx
ReplyDeleteThinking of you too Dawn in this sad timexx
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry for all of you. I am sure that Kara has had the best retirement with you and done what every dog dreams of running free around on a farm with all the smells and adventures that brings to a dog. Hugs to you all. xx
ReplyDeleteWe love our animals like children and even though you have only known her for a short time I am sure it will be heartbreaking to say goodbye but of course you know it is the right thing to do. Lucky Kara to have had such a loving family at the end of her life. With love.
ReplyDeleteWe shall have that decision to make sometime soon as well, so I feel for you. Vx
ReplyDeleteYou gave her a lovely home and are giving her the last gift you can; a painless end. xx
ReplyDeleteOh Dawn, this is the saddest news. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteShe knew love at the end of her life thanks to you. I'm fighting back the tears even though I never knew her, any animals passing tears me apart.
The Angles will love her ..... God bless

ReplyDeleteMy bad. When I read this post it did not occur to me that Kara had passed. Not sure why I didn't get it, just dense i guess. A big cyber hug to you. Hopefully this comment was not interpreted as insensitive as it sounds.
