Saying Goodbye

The time has come to goodbye to Kara,
I just want to leave you with some photos of some of the good times Kara has enjoyed in her retirement,  although its only been 8 months Kara brought us a lot of happiness and joy.

She will be missed, we know we are making the right decision on Kara's behalf, it has been a privilege to have had Kara with us.

  1. Oh, it is always so sad when we humans have to make this call. But, we have to be strong for our animal - our friend, our confidant. What is the best for them, hurts us, but we have to think of them, not us.

    Be strong.

  5. Oh, poor girl, such a short retirement. I'm glad she was able to spend it with you on the farm. More than your fair share of sadness I think, when rehoming older dogs. I admire you for doing it. x

  8. Oh Dawn... my heart aches for you and your hubby in the days to come. Yes, you are making the right decision for Kara. What a happy and varied (but oh-so short) retirement she has had. Thinking of you all, today and the days/weeks to come. Goodnight Kara - sleep well. CMW xx

  9. So sad. God bless her. Don't be sad, I read something once that stayed with me. It was a poem from a dog, the gist of which said the only thing that a dog has to pass on is it's owners love for it and asks that the owners take another dog and give it the same love they gave to it.

  14. Kara had a wonderful retirement, even though it was short. You have to be a very special person to adopt older dogs that may not be with you for very long. You gave her such a good quality of life and I commend you for knowing that it is time.

  19. We love our animals like children and even though you have only known her for a short time I am sure it will be heartbreaking to say goodbye but of course you know it is the right thing to do. Lucky Kara to have had such a loving family at the end of her life. With love.

    1. My bad. When I read this post it did not occur to me that Kara had passed. Not sure why I didn't get it, just dense i guess. A big cyber hug to you. Hopefully this comment was not interpreted as insensitive as it sounds.
