Its been a lovely sunny day here in Wales, not even a breeze, although there is a definite drop in temperature, Autumn is well on the way, I spent a few hours down in the cabin working on an Autumn Folk Art Panel, full details on my crafting blog. Kara was down in the cabin with me, retirement I don't is coming easy to her, she gets very fidgety and needs something to occupy her.
The other day I picked up a Kong Wishbone for her, you put some treats in it and the dog amuses itself trying to get them out, when I took a break for lunch I gave it Kara to play with and she loved it
It amused for her about an hour
I had one of those Heinz soup sachets for lunch the cream of tomato one, again I bought them for using at work, its a thick paste you squeeze out and add boiling water. I wont be in a rush to have another one, it taste nothing like Heinz Cream of Tomato, its not even the right colour.
This afternoon for our walk we went down to the forest,
It was defiantly autumnal in the forest
The forest borders on to our land, there is a path that runs through the forest that is accessible for the disabled, there was no one else around at all, we had it all to ourselves.
When we got back Kara was exhausted and slept the rest of the afternoon away while I got stuck into my sewing.
I have put down a few more off cuts of carpet so Kara has something to lie on.
Before I knew it time had clocked on and it was gone six, dinner tonight was a bit of fish from the freezer, not bad, it was a yellow label from Morrison's, cod fillet with a multi seeded coating I have a big plateful of coleslaw with it. Very enjoyable.
Tomorrows forecast is suppose to be fine again, so its going to be a day of fresh animal bedding and I want to get a pot of leek and potato soup made. I might even get some more trees planted.
It was beautiful over here yesterday, so much so I was sat in a t shirt on the lottie.x

DeleteI love the photograph of Kara flat out on a carpet square-some days that's just what I need. Oh the joy of a late autumn.I'm living in a town so the hardships of winter aren't as challenging here. I do have a romantic townie Christmas card vision of winter in the countryside. Blessed isolation, beautiful carpets of snow and silence all around. Country folk all around are probably laughing at me now! p.s. I agree with you about the soup -what the heck! How did they manage to make soup inedible?

ReplyDeleteOh to have a wood to walk in. The local ones are all owned by people for shoots NO ADMITTANCE - might scare the pheasants

DeleteThere ar many large clumps of trees and small woods close by and there is a lovely very large wood called "Shining Cliff" only a mile from us., on the west side of the Derwent Valley.Apart from being beautiful it also has lots of nuts and mushrooms to gather. Unfortunately the mountain bikers have found it too and crushed so may bluebells this spring.
ReplyDeleteWhere we lived before on the edge of the woods, cyclists had to pay to use the tracks in the woods, they were getting badly damaged, the woods were privetly owned.
