Now Online in Wales

Well we made it and neither of us can believe we are really here, we got hooked up to the internet today so once again we are connected to the outside world.

We arrived Friday in the pouring rain, first thing was unload the chickens, and get the hen house put together, soaked to the skin we got the chooks installed into a cosy house, fed and watered we then shut them in for the evening, got the cars unloaded found some dry clothes and had a cuppa, then it was time for my first attempt at cooking us something on the Rayburn, C kindly came over and ran through the basics with me, we had a lovely house warming pressie from K and C 2 bags of coal and a box of firelighters, son in law arrived our in house painter decorator, I managed to russel up some bacon and eggs and after we had eaten we got to work, down came the partion wall that was dividing up the living room.

The living room was the one room we had never seen in the house until we got here on Friday, it has a stunning fireplace and with the partition wall down it is a lovely big room.

Next on the job list was taking up the carpet in the main bedroom, hubby is allergic to cats and we couldn't spend the night with him sneezing and streaming eyes, we both needed sleep so it was out with the carpet hoover the room, in with a mattress and then grab some sleep.

Saturday morning saw us all up early after a quick breakfast it was back to work, all the carpets had to be ripped out and SIL got to work painting, we were just going for basics to freshen the place up, magnolia walls white ceilings and white woodwork.

A frustrating day for me as I was trying to find boxes with food and cooking equipment, we got the Alpaca field shelter put up it was a lovely sunny day, the barn was all set up for shearing the sheep the previous owners still had some sheep up here and it was planned for Sunday. Another meal cooked on the Rayburn sausage casserole and new potatoes, I love the Rayburn constant hot water cooking and it heats the radiators and all for free we just have to keep it supplied with logs.

Sunday started off bright and sunny, again another early start the painting continued and I was looking forward to watching the shearing.

I was brilliant to be able to watch it 

And an added bonus the first fleece was mine, its a white fleece with black spots, I am looking forward to spinning it in the coming months.

Another day came to a close we were both very tired but the house is taking shape, all the animals have settled down fine and seem to be enjoying the space of there new homes. Sunday I cooked chicken in the Rayburn I am really starting to get the hang of it now and manage to keep it going through the night.

I had to put some hurdles around the chickens area as the Alpacas were so inquisitive of the chooks they didn't have anywhere to run to away from them, the chooks are free to roam the field but have a place of safety to run to if they need it, I am sure in a few days they will all settle down together.

Today we went into Camarthen and ordered the carpets they are coming on Wednesday to fit them and next week the floor covering for the kitchen gets fitted. Wednesday night we should be moving in furniture. 

The painting is all finished now so unpacking will be starting in earnest.

I need to find a clock apart from the radio keeping me informed I have had no idea of the time, I wake in the morning and it is daylight and go to bed tired and its dark. 

Now we are back online I can catch up with everyone again.
