Afternoon Tea Anyone

After working out in the rain most of yesterday clearing the sheds and burning all those off cuts of wood we have kept as they might come in useful one day, we decided to take a break from packing and treat ourselves to Afternoon Tea

And very nice it was too, the local garden centre was doing afternoon tea £15 for 2, it was a lovely round off to a wet bank holiday and gave us both a chance to sit and talk.

we then had a stroll around the garden centre waiting for the rain to subside and that meant a look around the book section, they have some really interesting books in garden centres and one just fell into my basket

I love the long sleeveless jacket on the front cover and its all done in Garter stitch, it has been added to my winter knitting project list, I will have to see what wool from the shop I can use.
There is advantages to having your own craft shop, the other day my lamp that has stood beside my chair for years and given me direct light for sewing broke just like that it broke never to work again, I now have a lovely new light coming from one of my suppliers it should arrive in the shop today, I really miss not having a good light to sew by.

  1. Oh no was it raining by you yesterday, we had sunshine its drizzling now though. That afternoon tea looks wonderful, & a new knitting book rounds it off nicely. I like the shawl on the back of your book. I'm sure it is all to tempting to dip in when you have your own craft shop.

  2. I could eat that all by myself or I would have a good try anyway! Afternoon tea must be in the top 10 of the most wonderful things about the UK.

    1. Do add it to your list, you could always plan an afternoon tea with friends at home it would be a nice way to spend a summer afternoon.

  4. I'm sure running a craft shop isn't as perfect as I imagine, I'm sure you don't spend all day stroking yarn, knitting, and talking about knitting, finding out about the next big patterns and pretending you own all the yarn personally.

But in my head that is exactly what you do and it sounds lovely :)

    1. Running is a craft shop is very much like you DO imagine, its a great job, I do own all the stock personally and shopping for the shop still gives me a buzz and when a delivery arrives we all get excited over opening the boxes, even the customers join in and help put out stock, I will do a post tonight about the shop and give you more of an insight into it. :-)
